ANDERLECHT, ENGELBERT VAN

(1919-1961)

   A largely self-taught artist, Engelbert van Anderlecht was born in Schaerbeek on 24 March 1919. One of the most important abstract lyrical painters in Belgium, Anderlecht exhibited both dynamic movement and bold color in his paintings. He died in Brussels on 7 March 1961.
