[ɪ'məːdʒɪȖ 'mɑːkɪts; englisch], Bezeichnung für Finanzmärkte in Schwellenländern (z. B. Indien, Indonesien, Pakistan, Philippinen, Taiwan), zum Teil auch für die Aktienmärkte in den mittel- und osteuropäischen Reformstaaten (v.a. Polen, Tschechische Republik, Ungarn). Die genannten Staaten gelten wegen ihrer als besonders dynamisch eingeschätzten wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung für Kapitalanleger als aussichtsreich, wenngleich Anlagen an diesen aufstrebenden Märkten, die zum Teil bereits hohe Kapitalisierungen und Umsätze erreichen, auch einem relativ hohen Risiko unterliegen. Die von der International Finance Corporation (IFC) publizierten Emerging Markets Investable Indexes, die für jeden Entwicklungsmarkt eine repräsentative Zahl von Aktien und eine breite Auswahl von Teilmärkten umfassen, beachten die Möglichkeiten des Zugangs ausländischer Investoren zu den jeweiligen Märkten.
