BERSHADSKI, ISAIAH

   Russian Hebrew novelist. He was born in Belorussia and lived in Russia. His novel To No Purpose depicts Jewish life in the Pale of Settlement, and Against the Stream describes the collapse of traditional Russian Jewish life.
