CHASE AND PURSUIT

найдено в "Westerns in Cinema"

Virtually all adventure films have a chaseand-pursuit scene as an integral part of the plot, and Westerns are no different. Films such as Anthony Mann’s Winchester ’73 (1950) base the entire plot around chase and pursuit—in this film, pursuit after the elusive super Winchester that men die to possess. More often, however, the term chase and pursuit refers to the classic chase on horses as a cowboy hero such as Roy Rogers on Trigger races across the plains with a moving camera tagging along. This kind of chase, with wild, scattershot shooting, is usually confined to the lowbudget Westerns of the 1940s.
