BAER, YITZHAK

(1888-1980)

   German historian. He was born in Halberstadt. He became professor of medieval history and head of the history department at the Hebrew University. His writings include studies of the Jews in Christian Spain and the period of the second Temple. He was one of the founders and editors of the Jewish historical review Zion.
