DEUTSCH, LEO
(1855-1941)
Russian revolutionary. He was born in Tylchin. In 1877 he led a revolt of Ukrainian peasants. He was exiled to Siberia in 1884, but escaped in 1901. Later he moved to the US, where he edited a workers' journal, but he returned to Russia in 1917. In 1923 he published in Berlin a study of Jews in the Russian revolutionary movement.
