a systemic bacterial disease caused by Yersinia ruckeri found mostly in salmonids. Symptoms are severe congestion, septicaemia and haemorrhage in head tissues such as the palate and operculum with the lower jaw being eroded. Internal organs can also be infected. Abbreviated as ERM. Also called Hagerman redmouth disease
