   Organist and composer active in the revival of traditional Lutheran music and in the restoration of Baroque organbuilding techniques. His major sacred works include a Christmas oratorio (Die Weihnachtsgeschichte, 1933) and collections of fourvoiced motets modeled on those of Heinrich Schü tz (Geistliche {}Chormusik, 1934–1936, 1941).
