   American sculptor. Born in New York, he studied art at Yale and at the Art Students League. Later he enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. During World War I he served as an artist-correspondent. He sculpted presidents of the United States as well as made busts of leading statesmen and generals.
