FOGARTY, ANNE

(1919-1980)

   Fogarty began as an actress and became the 1950s "wife-dressing" designer. She had the ability to create clothing to compliment the 1950s lifestyle look of the perfect American housewife. Best known for the "paperdoll" dress and her "tea cozy" dress, Fogarty continued to design until her death.
