   On a temporary leave from filming his James Bond movies, Sean Connery, the famously Scottish actor, played the lead in his only Western, Shalako (1968), a film based on a Louis L’Amour novel. Connery’s love interest is played by Brigitte Bardot, the famously French female actor, in her one Western. Although Connery played an experienced frontiersman, he maintained his Scottish accent. The movie was filmed in Great Britain and in Germany.
