Fabrice m
French: from the old Roman family name Fabricius, probably a derivative of faber craftsman, smith. There are no saints of this name, but it is permitted as a given name by the Catholic Church in honour of the Roman republican general and statesman Caius Fabricius Luscinus (d. 250 BC), who was noted not only for his skill as a military commander and negotiator of peace treaties, but also for the great simplicity of his lifestyle and for his refusal to take bribes.
Cognates: Italian: Fabrizio. Spanish: Fabricio.
Short form: Italian: BRIZIO (SEE Brizio).
