CASSEL, DAVID

(1818-93)

   German scholar. He was born in Silesia. He lectured at the Hochschule fur die Wissenschaft des Judentums in Berlin. His publications include a history of Jewish literature, German translations of the Apocrypha and Judah ha-Levi's Kuzari, and critical editions of classical texts.
