FOA, ELEAZAR NAHMAN

Italian rabbi and kabbalist. He lived at Reggio neU'Emilia and became chief rabbi of the duchy of Modena. He was head of Hevrat ha-Aluvim, which sponsored the printing of a commentary on the Haggadah. He also wrote a philosophical and kabbalistic commentary on the Torah.
