(1874-1933)
Actor. A comic actor originally in the Wilhelmine vaudeville mold of Max Pallenberg and Guido Thielscher, Adalbert achieved notoriety in the Weimar period for his work with Max Reinhardt. He replaced Werner Krauss in the title role of Carl Zuckmayer's Der Hauptmann von Köpenick (The Captain of Köpenick) in the summer of 1931, which several critics found more "empathic" than the original casting.
