   the genial, Argentine-born Astor (who had a small role in the Hollywood production Way of a Gaucho, 1952) came to Mexico and became an important producer-director-writer of 1960s telenovelas. He made a few appearances as an actor in the 1960s and early '70s, and was also a popular TV variety show host. Married to actress Chela Castro.
