BENDEMANN, EDUARD

(1811-99)

   German painter. He was born in Berlin. He converted to Christianity in 1835 and later was appointed professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden. In 1856 he became director of the Academy in Düsseldorf. Some of his paintings depict biblical scenes.
