FACKENHEIM, EMIL

(1916-2003)

   Canadian theologian. He was born in Halle, Germany. He emigrated to Canada in 1940, where he became professor of philosophy at the University of Toronto. His major work concerns the religious response to the Holocaust. His writings include: God's Presence in History, The Jewish Return Into History anA To Mend the World.
