   The daughter of Moshe Dayan, she was born in Nahalal, Palestine. She was an Israel Labor Party member of the Knesset from 1992 to 2003. She joined Meretz in 1991 and helped to found the Meretz faction. A writer and journalist by profession, she was also an outspoken peace activist, civil libertarian, and feminist. She became deputy mayor of Tel Aviv in 2004, representing the Yahad-Social Democratic Israel party. Among her publications is a biography of her father My Father, His Daughter. Dayan remains actively engaged in Israel's peace movement and feminist causes.
