Hip-hoppers didn't invent the glorification of materialism.

TV specials showcase the opulence of our favorite entertainers — Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith, etc.Newscasts report the price of diamonds and other jewelry worn by stars at popular award shows.
