BRIGHAM
Brigham: translation
Brigham m
English (mainly U.S.): name adopted in honour of the early Mormon leader, Brigham Young (1801–77). It was originally a surname, a local name from places in Cumbria and North Yorkshire so called from Old English brycg bridge + hām homestead, settlement. It is not known why the Mormon leader received this given name; he was the son of John and Abigail Young of Whitingham, Vermont.
