AKIYAMA SHUN

   Akiyama Shun is a literary critic from Tokyo who graduated from Waseda University in French literature. He worked for a newspaper and then as a university professor. In 1967, he published Naibu no ningen (The Inner Man, 1967), and in 1996 his critical study of Oda Nobunaga was a bestseller and won the Yomiuri Prize. An I-Novel advocate, Akiyama has served on the selection committee of many notable literary awards.
