   Australian bushranger. Born in London, in 1832 he was sentenced to deportation for theft. In Australia he was confined, but escaped; later he was recaptured. After his fourth escape he took refuge in the bush and became a leader of bushrangers. Known as Teddy the Jewboy, he ranged over northern New South Wales. He was captured and hung.
