(1913–1994)
The son of Noah Beery and nephew of Wallace Beery, Noah Berry Jr. married Buck Jones’s daughter, Maxine Jones. His long career began as a child in The Mark of Zorro (1920), which starred Douglas Fairbanks and his father. His career as a Western actor consisted mainly of character roles and sidekick roles to such stars as Buck Jones, Tom Mix, and Johnny Mack Brown. Beery’s most notable role was that of Buster McGee in Howard Hawks’s Red River (1948) who, when asked by Matt what Tess looked like, replied bashfully, “Oh Matt, do you remember that little filly I used to own?” “That is what I thought,” Matt replied.
