(or law of )
The law of classical logic that every proposition is either true or false: that is, there are just two values a proposition may take. More than other basic laws of logic, its status and truth have proved highly controversial, because of problems associated with vagueness, because it seems incompatible with constructivism, and because of the problems raised by the semantic paradoxes.
