ANCHIHALINE
referring to an aquatic habitat with restricted open air exposure, one or more connections to the sea (but not a surface connection), and influenced by marine and terrestrial ecosystems. Found in volcanic and limestone areas, e.g. the bythitid genus Lucifuga of Cuba and the Bahamas. Also spelled anchialine
