   Choirmaster, organist. Together with Siegfried Reda he formed the Heidenheim {}Arbeitstage für neue Kirchenmusik (1946–1960) and composed Protestant church music in Germany after World War II by using techniques of Paul Hindemith, Béla Bartok, and Igor Stravinsky that had been banned during the war. His Das Choralwerk (1930–1960) is a collection of simple arrangements of Lutheran chorales organized by liturgical year. (at)
