   Dutch author. Despite having married a non-Jewish woman, he returned to Orthodox Judaism. In 1912 he joined Mizrahi, the Orthodox party of the Zionist Organization and emigrated to Palestine in 1919. He later became a lecturer in commercial and criminal law at the Law School in Jerusalem. Subsequently he became affiliated with the Agudah, the Orthodox party critical of Zionism and served as the spokesman of the movement to the British authorities. In 1924 he was murdered by a Zionist terror group.
