BERMAN, HANNAH

(1883-1955)

   English novelist and translator of Lithuanian origin. She translated novels by Sholem Aleichem and I. A. Lisky as well as Yiddish short stories. She also wrote two novels in English, which describe Jewish life in Lithuania under the rule of Nicholas I.
