ABRAHAM BEN ALEXANDER KATZ OF KALLISK (KALISHER, ABRAHAM)

   Polish Hasidic rabbi. He represented popular elements of the Hasidic movement, but the odd customs of his followers evoked opposition. With Menahem Mendel of Vitebsk, he led a group of Hasidim from Russia to Palestine in 1777.
