Butandiole,
Singular Butandiol das, -s, Butylenglykole, die vier strukturisomeren Dihydroxyderivate des n-Butans (1,2-, 1,3-, 1,4- und 2,3-Butandiol). Wichtig ist v. a. das 1,4-Butandiol (1,4-Butylenglykol), das als Lösungsmittel und Ausgangsprodukt für die Herstellung von Epoxidharzen, Polyamiden, Polyestern und Polyurethanen dient und Zwischenprodukt u. a. bei der Herstellung von Tetrahydrofuran ist.
