DARBANDIKHAN DAM

   This dam was constructed in the 1950s on the Sirwan and Diyala Rivers near Halabja, which is close to the Iranian frontier in Iraqi Kurdistan. There is now a large lake behind the dam, which provides substantial irrigation and power resources.
