BEATTY, Warren: translation

(1937– )
One of Hollywood’s most enigmatic actors, Warren Beatty has worked in critically acclaimed films such as Bonnie and Clyde (1967) and notable box office disasters such as Ishtar (1987). Opposite Julie Christie, Beatty played John McCabe, an entrepreneurial town builder, in Robert Altman’s McCabe and Mrs. Miller(1971) —a role often considered one of the most poignant performances among early antimyth Westerns. The final scene of the guerrilla-warlike shootout in the snow overturns the traditional formulaic showdown.
