DOGUCULUK

найдено в "Historical Dictionary of the Kurds"

Doguculuk, or Eastism, was the Turkish euphemism for a campaign in the relatively liberal 1960s to develop its badly neglected provinces in its eastern (Kurdish) region without mentioning the forbidden words Kurds or Kurdistan. The campaign lasted for almost a decade and constituted in effect the first serious Kurdish self-expression permitted since the Dersim revolt in the late 1930s. Musa Anter's publications played an important role. In retrospect, Doguculuk helped serve as an intellectual spawning ground for the birth of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the 1970s.
