Abdullah II: translation

(1962- )

   King of Jordan who succeeded his father, King Hussein, in February 1999 and sustained the peace treaty with Israel. In the spring of 2007, he served (along with Egypt's president Hosni Mubarak) as the point man in renewed efforts by the Arab League to achieve a common basis for dialogue with Israel.
