A|min [Kurzw. aus ↑ Ammoniak u. ↑ -in (4)], das; -s, -e: basisch reagierende u. daher salzbildende org. Verb., in denen Aminogruppen an C-Atome gebunden sind, z. B. Methylamin, Diphenylamin, Triethylamin, vgl. Enamine, Imine u. Anilin (ein aromatisches A.). Man kann die A. auch auffassen als Substitutionsprodukte des Ammoniaks mit 1–3 Alkyl- u./od. Arylresten. Man unterscheidet primäre A. (R—NH₂), sekundäre A. (R—NH—R) u. tertiäre A. (R₃N) sowie neben den Monoaminen zweiwertige A. (Diamine), drei- u. höherwertige A. (vgl. Polyamine). Zur Benennung dienen -amin als Suffix bzw. Funktionsbez. u. das Präfix ↑ Amino- (z. B. 2-Aminopropionsäure = α-Alanin). Cycl. A. rechnet man zu den ↑ heterocyclischen Verbindungen.Vgl. Azan.

1) Ahmed, ägyptischer Schriftsteller, * Kairo 1. 11. 1878, ✝ ebenda 30. 5. 1954. Seine vielfältigen und umfangreichen philosophischen, historischen und v. a. literarhistorischen Untersuchungen prägten die Geisteswissenschaften in der arabischen Welt nachhaltig.

Werke: (arabisch): Morgendämmerung des Islam (1928); Vormittag des Islam (1933-36); Mittag des Islam (1945); Tag des Islam (1952).

2) Hafisollah, afghanischer Politiker, * Paghman (bei Kabul) 1926, ✝ (hingerichtet) 27. 12. 1979; schloss sich der kommunistisch orientierten Demokratischen Volkspartei an. Nach dem von ihr getragenen Umsturz (April 1978) wurde er stellvertretender Ministerpräsident, nach einer parteiinternen Palastrevolte (September 1979) Ministerpräsident und Vorsitzender der Demokratischen Volkspartei. Nach dem Einmarsch sowjetischer Truppen in Afghanistan (Ende Dezember 1979) kamen die von der sowjetischen Partei- und Staatsführung begünstigten innenparteilichen Gegner Amins an die Macht; Amin wurde wegen »Verbrechen gegen das afghanische Volk« zum Tode verurteilt.

3) Kasim, ägyptischer Sozialreformer, * Kairo oder Alexandria 1863, ✝ Kairo 22. 4. 1908; war Staatsanwalt und Richter. Er setzte den islamischen Modernismus M. Abduhs in die Forderung nach konkreten sozialen Veränderungen um und trat mit seinen Aufsehen erregenden Büchern »Die Befreiung der Frau« (1899) und »Die neue Frau« (1901) nachdrücklich für die Frauenemanzipation ein.
