FKBP

(= FK506 binding protein)

A family of small intracellular proteins (around 11 kD) that bind the immunosuppressive drug FK506 (tacrolimus), thus are immunophilins. Like cyclophilin have peptidyl-prolyl isomerase activity but are not structurally similar.
