C. difficile enterotoxin A (308 kD) is secreted, enters eukaryotic cell by receptor-mediated endocytosis and once in cytoplasm glucosylates small G-proteins of rho family thereby inactivating them and leading to loss of actin filament bundles. Cytotoxin B (270 kD) is similar.
