BARYEHUDA, YISRAEL (IDELSON, YISRAEL)
(1895-1965)
Israeli political leader. Born in Russia, he settled in Palestine in 1926. From 1949 he was a member of the Knesset. After the split in Mapam in 1954, he became a member of the Ahdut ha-Avodah-Poale Zion party. From 1955 to 1959 he was minister of the interior, and from 1962 to 1965 minister of communications.
