   Founded in 1841 by Alexis Lavigne in France, it was the first school to offer a fashion education. Lavigne, the inventor of the couture mannequin, built a foundation for a school that today has developed a program with depth in both the artistic and technical areas. Esmod competes globally with its international programs.
